Fashion Statement

I will not be reading any more romance novels set in Medieval times as, not even in my wildest imagination, are men wearing "puffed trunk hose" sexy. No. They are not.

Um, are those like pantaloons? Or something far more sinister? Also, I kept misreading the word "puffed" as "pink," which made matters WAY worse.

They're very Elizabethan. Kind of like those puffy shorts men used to wear in Shakespearean times. Think jams of of the 1500s.

Also, I would like to report that I have a negative response to the use of the word "comely." Ick. It doesn't sound like it means sexy.

Oh, have you read The Last Duel? Not sexy, really, though a noblewoman is savagedly attacked by a nobleman and his accomplice.

It's a true story, a short read, worth it, and not too embarressing to be seen reading. The author painfully draws out the suspense. "Tell me who won!" I wanted to know as I turned the pages.

The tights on guys don't bother me as much as knowing how much everybody smelled.

I just had to comment on the first thing I read here. I'll keep reading.
