It is 9:36 p.m. I hear the vacuum running. I peer up the stairs to see Dad pushing said vacuum down the hall. I look in their bedroom, where Mom's brushing her teeth. "What-?" I begin.
She shrugs. "I have no clue," she says, all frothy.
Dad reaches the end of the hall, looks back at me. "What?"
"Well, it's just...it's...what inspired this?"
"I don't know. I just saw some stuff in the floor, I guess."
I resist the urge to say anything else. Particularly, "I have never seen you thus inspired in my life."
A New Year's anomaly, it would seem.

See? NO ONE can resist the siren call of the vacuum. It may take months, or even years, but sooner or later, everyone falls prey!
I am sorry to report, Kim, he did not give careful thought and attention to the pattern of the track marks.
Wow. This DOES seem like an alternate universe, though I've heard similar stories of late. Cliff has even started cooking dinner for my mom at night.
Whoah! Jenn, I can't BELIEVE that. Maybe it's something in the water in W'ville?
